Kittatinny student receives Good Citizens Award

Newton – Since 1934, the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) has recognized high school seniors who exhibit attributes such as leadership, service, patriotism, and dependability. Teachers select one student to receive the DAR Good Citizens Award for exhibiting these traits.
This year Kittatinny selected Katie Riva for her upstanding character, academic rigor, and for being a positive role model. She participates in girls lacrosse, field hockey, and is captain of the swim team. Katie is a member of Peer Leadership, the InterAct Club, Safe Teen Driving Campaign, and Math League. Academically, she is in the National Honor Society, and has been on high honor roll every marking period in high school. Katie’s college goal is to achieve a BSN in Nursing.
Katie will receive a DAR pin, certificate, and wallet card. As a recipient of the DAR Citizens Award, she has also been invited to enter the DAR scholarship contest.
