Heroin arrest in Andover

    — On Nov. 17, at approximately 12:20 am, Andover Township Police Department arrested Alexander L Casazza age 27 of Hamburg and Erik C Young age 25 of Newton for possession of heroin, police said.
    Casazza was operating a 2009 Honda CRV which was reported by the Sparta Township Police Department as being a vehicle taken without owner’s consent. Officers from Andover Township Police located the vehicle on Route 206 in Andover Township near St Paul’s Abbey. Upon stopping the vehicle further investigation revealed Casazza was in possession of heroin, wax folds and a hypodermic needle. The passenger, Young, had an active warrant for $300 out of Franklin Boro and was also found to be in possession of heroin and a hypodermic needle. Both parties were taken into custody and transported back to the station for processing. The owner of the vehicle responded to the scene to recover the vehicle.
    Casazza was charged with possession of heroin, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a hypodermic needle along with a motor vehicle violation for possession of CDS in a motor vehicle. Young was charged with possession of heroin, being under the influence of CDS and possession of a hypodermic needle. Both face a court appearance in Superior Court on Dec. 6, 2017.
