SPARTA — For the fourth consecutive year, the St. Leonides Columbian Squires circle #5177 from Saint Kateri parish, participated in the annual New Jersey Alzheimer’s walk held at Van Saun Park in Paramus.
The walking team from Sparta was led by Chief Squire Frank Cutrone who chaired this program in honor of his grandfather Frank who suffers with the disease.
The Squires generated donations and on-line giving of over $1,400, nearly tripling their original goal.
This brings their four-year total to over $6,000 which helps support the caregiver respite program for the New Jersey Alzheimer’s chapter.
Leading fundraisers included Cutrone who raised almost $900, as well as Squire Rose Tara More and Squire Sebastian Gomez.
Grand Knight Mike Sawey thanked everyone who helped the Saint Kateri team.
The Columbian Squires are the youth division of the Knights of Columbus for young Catholic men ages 10-18.
