Help offered with filing taxes

Project Self-Sufficiency is offering free tax preparation from IRS-certified volunteers to local residents by appointment only on Tuesday, March 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. Those who take advantage of this opportunity may learn that they may qualify for tax credits, such as the Child Tax Credit, Earned Income Tax Credit or Education Tax Credit which are designed to offer tax relief to low and moderate income families and individuals.

The free income tax filing services is offered at Project Self-Sufficiency in conjunction with the Internal Revenue Service, AARP, and the United Way of Northern New Jersey.

Interested participants are encouraged to call 888-387-9830, extension 3502, to schedule an appointment at Project Self-Sufficiency.
