Grandparent's Day held at Newton school
NEWTON — Monday April 28, was a rainy, windy day, but at The Auxilium School in Newton it was a day full of smiles and laughter.
The annual Grandparent's Day celebration was a great hit. Grandparent's braved the heavy rain to spend the morning with their grandchildren and they were rewarded with huge smiles, fun crafts, songs, gifts and refreshments.
The teachers and staff had their cameras out to take pictures of each child with their grandparents and will share those pictures with the families.
Vee Rumsey, who's grandson Jack Youngs, attends the school said, "I have a whole new respect for everyone that works at Camp Aux. That school is run like a well-oiled machine. They are so awesome with the children ... I got a chuckle when most of the kids started little conversations with Jeff and he knew each and every one of their names."
"That was awesome. [It] says so much about the love and care of the children. Thank you all for everything you do for the kids," Rumsey said.
