NEWTON — The Newton High School graduation ceremony late Tuesday afternoon on the school’s athletic field continued a long history of dignity and respect.Guests were reminded to hold their applause and cheers until all the 182 candidates received their diplomas, which they did.“I am very proud of the community, and the school, because this is how the tradition has always been,” said Principal James E. Tasker. “People like it this way. For the 37 years I have been here it has always been like this.”Tasker was especially proud of the class of 2014.He said the class accumulated over $8 million in scholarships.For more photos visit www.townshipjournal.com.
