Newton resident Eric Martin was one of 734 students to graduate from Messiah College on May 17 during the College's annual commencement.

Martin graduated with a degree in business administration.

Bucknell University conferred 859 bachelor's and 26 master's degrees during Commencement ceremonies May 18. Degrees were awarded for studies in liberal arts and professional programs in engineering, education, management and music.

Kenneth Gorab, of Andover, son of Richard and Doreen Gorab, and a 2010 graduate of Newton High School, graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Erin Roy, of Newton, daughter of W. Thomas and Catherine Roy, and a graduate of Pope John XXIII Regional High School, graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biology.

Morrisville State College recently announced that Brendan Shannon, of Stanhope, was named to the Dean's List for the Spring 2014 semester.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must achieve an average of 3 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours.

William Nechay Hoer, of Andover, a graduate of Pope John XXIII Regional High School, will attend Clarkson University in Potsdam, N.Y., as a member of the Class of 2018.

Hoer, who will be majoring in university studies, will begin studying at Clarkson in the fall.

Brianne Alyssa Speranza, of Andover, a sophomore majoring in electrical engineering, was named to the Dean's List for the spring 2014 semester at Clarkson University.

Dean's List students must achieve a minimum 3.25 grade-point average and also carry at least 14 credit hours.

Isaac Zappe, of Andover, is among the 548 students who earned dean's list honors for the spring 2014 semester at Mount St. Mary's University in Emmitsburg, Maryland.

Zappe, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Dion Zappe, made the dean's list by maintaining a 3.4 or higher grade point average.

Shawn Wieboldt, of Newton, has been named to the spring 2014 Dean's List at Mansfield University.

To be named to the Dean's List, a student must be attending the university full-time and attain at least a 3.5 GPA for the semester.

Ashley Smith, of Stanhope, achieved a perfect 4 GPA during the Spring 2014 semester, earning a spot on the Provost's List. Ashley is a sophomore majoring in Video/TV and Business.
