— Bunnies were definitely the theme as KEEP celebrated Easter. Legend has it that the idea of an egg-giving rabbit came to the U.S. from Europe in the 18th century but the rabbit has been associated with Spring since ancient times. Judging by the recent fun everyone had at the various KEEP programs the bunny remains as popular as ever. L'il Keepers, ages six weeks to six years, enjoyed bunny pancakes, Easter stories and an egg hunt with many sporting their own floppy bunny ears for the occasion. Children in the after-school programs, ages six years to thirteen years, also celebrated the season. Some made bunny masks and others decorated bulletin boards with bunny faces and Easter eggs.
