Superintendent of the Byram Township Schools, Bryan Hensz, indicated that plans are complete to receive approximately 889 elementary and middle school children on opening day of school, Thursday, September 7, 2017.

Parents/guardians of children of elementary school age and new to the community are asked to register their children for the coming school year. Registration for the coming school year is now going on in the Byram Township Schools from 9:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. Registration will NOT be accepted on the opening day of school.

1. Registration for K-4 only in the main office of the Byram Lakes Elementary School

2. Registration for 5-8 only in the main office of the Byram Intermediate School,

A new student orientation program will be held on Wednesday, August 23 at 10:00 a.m. at the Byram Lakes School (grades 1-4).

A fifth grade orientation and New Student Orientation program will be held on Tuesday, August 29th at 9:00 a.m. at the Byram Intermediate School (grades 5-8).

Although it is tremendously exciting, kindergarten is a big step, for parents and students alike. To ease this transition, the Byram Lakes Elementary School will be hosting a Kindergarten Orientation for you and your child on Friday, September 1st from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Parents/guardians are reminded that bus routes, times and locations of bus stops will be mailed to your home towards the end of summer. Children should be at their respective bus stops five minutes prior to their stated bus time and, on boarding, will be checked by the bus driver against loading list.

Unless it is absolutely necessary, parents/guardians should refrain from driving their children to or from school since a congested traffic pattern in the vicinity of the school bus loading area creates a potential safety hazard. Parents/guardians who find it necessary to pick up their child in the afternoon should not plan to do so until the end of class time.

The school cafeteria will be open on the first day of school in both schools for children in grades K-8 desiring to use the facilities. The cost of a student lunch will be $2.90, a la carte milk $.60 .

The day for Byram Lakes and Byram Intermediate students begins at 8:40 a.m. with dismissal at 3:35 p.m.
