— The Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council is accepting applications from all Sussex County visual and performing arts groups as well as from other non-profit organizations planning an arts project. Applicant non-profit organizations must be 501(c)(3) certified, as determined by the IRS and be governed by a board of directors that is responsible for policy and finance decisions. The organization must also comply with certain federal regulations and have a one – year track record of programs and services.

Eligible organizations should appoint a member of their board of directors (usually the treasurer) to attend the Arts Grant Workshop on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at 7 p.m. at the Arts Council office at 133 Spring Street, Newton.

It is mandatory that someone from the applicant organization attend the workshop in order for the organization to be eligible to receive funds. Call the Council at (973) 383-0027 by Tuesday, Sept. 19 at 4:00 pm to reserve a place. This workshop is optional for current re-grantee groups. The application deadline is Friday, October 27, 2017 by 5:00 pm.

Grants will be awarded for general operating support for visual and performing arts groups and for special projects presented by non-arts organizations. The organization’s board should discuss a proposed grant request and its expected use prior to the workshop, so that the grantee representative is prepared.

Funding of the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council has been made available in part by the NJ State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a Partner Agency of the National Endowment for the Arts, through the State / County Partnership Block Grant Program, as administered by the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council. Additional funding has been made available in part by the New Jersey Historical Commission through the County History Partnership Program, as administered by the Sussex County Arts & Heritage Council. Partial funding provided by the Sussex County Board of Freeholders.
