— Many people often associate the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day with alcohol filled parties, creating a barrier for families or people in recovery to have a fun and safe, recovery-friendly celebration. In Sussex County, a team of Recovery Advocacy volunteers meet monthly to organize events that promote and support recovery. We are pleased to announce that the 4th Annual Sober St. Patrick’s Day Party will be held on Saturday, March 17, 2018 from 6:30-8:30pm. All are invited to join in this community event where this year’s theme is “So, You Think You Can Irish Dance?” featuring the Lenihan School of Irish Dance, Sparta.

Join friends and allies of recovery on Saturday, March 17, 2018 for this free social event, brought to you by The Center for Prevention and Counseling, The National Council on Alcoholism and Drug Dependence of New Jersey (NCADD-NJ) and the County of Sussex. You are invited to enjoy music and dinner with family and friends of all ages from 6:30-8:30pm at The Center, 65 Newton-Sparta Road in Newton. People in recovery, their family members and other supporters have been meeting to help plan community events like this, in the county, that support and promote recovery. Final preparations for the St. Patrick’s Day party will take place at the Monday, March 12, 2018 Recovery Advocacy meeting at The Center at 65 Newton-Sparta Road at 6pm and, anyone interested is welcome to come, help out and learn more.

Please RSVP, or for more information and/or to attend Recovery Support events in Sussex County contact Katie at The Center at (973) 940-2966 or email katie@centerforprevention.org.
