NEWTON — In recognition of May as Mental Health Month, Intensive Family Support Services (“IFSS”) of Sussex County, NAMI Sussex, the Sussex County affiliate of the National Alliance on Mental Illness, and Bridgeway Rehabilitation Services, are pleased to present the New Jersey Mental Health Players who will perform on Monday May 21 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Bridgeway, 93 Stickles Pond, Road, Newton.

The Mental Health Players is a group of volunteer performers who use theatrical improvisation and role playing to bring the realities of mental illness to life. The Mental Health Players have been recognized by the New Jersey Governor’s Council on Mental Health Stigma with their 2011 Ambassador Award.

The Sussex County Mental Health Task Force has taken a pledge to promote the Campaign to Change Direction. This campaign is designed to help people recognize the five signs of emotional suffering and raise awareness that there can be no health without mental health. The Mental Health Players will help us learn more about these signs in this dynamic performance.
