Sparta — The 17th Annual Pass It Along Day will be held on Saturday, May 29th, 2018, starting at 9:00 a.m., offering volunteer opportunities across Sussex County for participants of all ages. Projects include painting, landscaping, minor structural repairs, planning gardens and more with organizations such as Stokes State Forest, SCARC, Sunset Vista, Karen Ann Quinlan Hospice and OSCAR Animal Rescue. Various organizations and groups will take one of the 20 available sites, including Thorlabs, Sussex County Community College and various high schools and groups.

Pass It Along Day has grown to become one of the largest one-day service events in northern New Jersey, encompassing over 100 volunteers across 20 sites. Volunteers of all ages will participate in community service projects to help nonprofit agencies and the community at large.

“Pass It Along Day is a special day for our community. Our volunteers are helping so many in need, our nonprofit partners and the communities at large. This year we’ve added a lot of new projects. Our hope is that we have the largest number of volunteers ever,” said Kathy Rathbone, director of programs.
