    — Pass It Along will host Box City on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 7:00 pm to 7:00 am at Sussex County Community College. Box City is an event focused on educating our community on the realities of homelessness here in Sussex County. Over 80 high school students from across Sussex County will sleep outside and create a city of boxes on the lawn of the college. Participants become aware of the homeless population that surrounds them and the many ways that all of us can serve our neighbors in need.
Participants will experience homelessness simulations, workshops, and team-building exercises. Workshops will include speakers and service projects will include toiletry kit assembly and building dog shelter beds for local dog shelters. Workshop facilitators include Bob Jones of Infinite Fire, Tim Farris of GotUCovered and Pass It Along’s leadership programs; Service Corps and goLEAD. A bread and soup line, donated by Andre's Lakeside Dining, will be hosted by Pass It Along’s 2018 Scholar Athletes.
All proceeds from this event will go to Pass It Along and Family Promise; a non-profit organization that serves homeless families in Newton, N.J.
