The East West Karate Academy of Sparta recently held its fall shiai tournament where Sensei Scott Klinger and his experienced team of black belts led the program for over 150 students in attendance. At the end of the program, Sensei Scott Klinger promoted several students to advanced ranks. Congratulations to Brooke Klinger and Emily Slattery for promotion to first degree black belt, John Grassia to 2nd degree black belt, and Joe Malaro to the rank of 5th degree black belt. To reach these levels, students must train for many years and participate in competitive tournaments at the local and national level.
