  • The Louise Childs branch of the Sussex County Public Library is actively seeking suggestions from the public for ways to enhance programming. Two meetings will be held, where the public can making fundraising and programming suggestions at 11 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 16 and at 10:30 a.m. on Sat., Jan. 19, 2019.




  • Sussex County Library is holding several upcoming events, including planning meetings during which residents of all ages can make programming suggestions.




The newly formed "Friends of the Louise Childs Library," is holding two public meetings to give the public a chance to share their own vision for the future of programming at the Sussex County Library's south branch. The group aims to raise funds in order to enhance the library's programming by getting the public involved. From the littlest residents to the most elderly, all residents are encouraged to be a part of the meetings and help brainstorm, to ensure a wide variety of offerings.

The meetings will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 16, and Saturday, Jan. 19, 2019.

Other upcoming events at the library include:

CHILDREN'S Pony Beat Club

4-5 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Join the fun by assembling a pony bead creation.

This is a guided craft with instructions by Miss Beverly.

Supplies are provided. This event is recommended for 2nd-5th graders.

Registration is currently open.

Mock Interview Sessions for job seekers

5:30-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 8.

Practice interview skills with a VMC Group talent acquisition specialist.

Registration is underway.

Jan Brett Pre-school Storytime

10-10:30 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 16.

Jan Bretty story and craft for children ages 2-5. Registration required.

Read to a Dog

Children ages 5-10 are invited to improve reading skills by reading to a friendly, certified, therapy dog.

Basic Computer Skills for Job Seekers

5:30-7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26.

Acquire necessary skills to compete in today's job market. Registration begins Feb. 2.
