Dentistry Expert Dr. Jonice Thompson Withanachchi: Best and Worst Candy

Help your child pick out the best candy from the bad ones this season!
Chocolate is probably one of the best kind of candy your child will get because it washes off easier than other candies. Dark chocolate also has less sugar than milk chocolate!
Be watchful of sticky candy, as they are tougher to get rid of even when you floss and brush your teeth, giving more time for bacteria to get to it and start eating it, eventually producing acid.
Hard candy is also another kind to watch out for, because they can break your child's teeth if they're not careful.
Popcorn balls are ok! Just have some floss at the ready after your child eats it!
Sour candy can sometimes be very acidic and can wear away at enamel, so be selective when choosing which ones your child will eat!
After all the candy consumed, always floss and brush!
