Newton Day Festival

The Town of Newton and the Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce will join together to celebrate the Newton Day Festival on Saturday, June 8, 2019. This will be a fun-filled and special day for the community, with even more activities than ever.
Spring Street from 10:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.. will be filled with vendors and non-profit agencies offering fun, unique shopping experiences. The DJ – RC Mixers will be on hand again to entertain the crowd. Mad Science will be on stage at noon and Rizzo’s Reptiles will present a program at 2:30 p.m.. Among this year's new features is a Dog Custom contest: the best costume representing a character in a book, a TV show, and a movie. One winner in each category receiving a gift package valued at $50 for Maxwell & Molly’s Closet.
At 4:30 p.m. the festival moves to Memory Park. Music will be provided by MUSHMOUTH performing starting at 6 p.m. and continuing until the fireworks begin. Another addition this year will be Hamster Ball races, held from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Cost is $5 per person.
There also will be a petting zoo provided by Sugar Sweet Farms. This is all in addition to the event's usual games and contests for the children to enjoy along with a Bouncy-House Land featuring several large inflatable’s and carnival games. These are all free for the children and families to enjoy. Food Vendors will be have a variety of foods avaiable, including; hamburgers, deep-fried hot dogs, cotton candy, hot pretzels, kettle corn, lemonade, carnival goodies and more hamburgers, deep-fried hot dogs, cotton candy, kettle corn, carnival goodies.
At dusk, this year’s Fireworks display will be like no other as the town has increased the funding to provide a more spectacular display than in years past featuring low-aerial pyrotechnics.
In addition, the Newton Day Committee has decided that this year’s display will be in honor of Lexi Faye. A special section of the fireworks will be dedicated to Lexi in between the main display and the grand finale, with fireworks done in her favorite color of white. Rain date is June 15, 2019.
