Woman's club awards five scholarships

SPARTA — The Sparta Woman's Club awarded five scholarships this past June to four high school seniors and one woman returning to school to further her education. Through the fund raising efforts of the Club, these Scholarships assist women to pursue their educations at a college of their choosing.
Scholarships were awarded to:
Alexandra Dizon - Sussex County Vocational School, attending John Tyler Community College in Virginia and intending to transfer to Virginia Polytech Institute to study Biology;
Rebecca Wiltshire - Pope John XIII High School, attending Cornell University pursuing Electrical and Computer Engineering;
Elizabeth DeFelice - Sparta High School, attending Pennsylvania State University pursuing Secondary Education, German and International Relations;
Lauren Danko - Sparta High School, attending the University of Pittsburgh pursuing a degree in Biology, and;
Cynthia Morales - PSS, attending Sussex County Community College pursuing a degree to become a Veterinary Assistant.
