    – Sojihuggles Children’s Foundation, www.sojihuggles.org, is conducting a shoe drive to raise funds for children in need. Funds are earned based on the total weight of the pairs of gently worn, used and/or new shoes collected. Funds2Orgs will issue a check to Sojihuggles Children’s Foundation for the collected shoes. 100% of those dollars will directly benefit children in need, right here, in our community. Anyone can help by donating gently worn, used and/or new shoes at one of our drop-off locations: Highlands State Bank – Sparta; Lakeland Bank – Andover, Sparta, Stanhope; R&T Nautilus Fitness – Newton; Realty Executives – Sparta; YMCA – Hardyston.
"We are excited about our shoe drive," said T Love, founder/CEO. "We know most people have extra shoes in their closet that are still in good shape but are not being worn. By donating them to Sojihuggles, you’re providing food and clothing for children in need here at home while helping micro-entrepreneurs to create, maintain and grow small business in developing countries where economic opportunity and jobs are limited. The shoes you donate are not just shoes, they give a chance at a livelihood that someone may not have had before. Shoes, casual or dress, sneakers, boots, adult and children, any type of footwear is acceptable. Sussex county has over 140,000 people – if every family donated even just one pair of gently worn shoes, yes, that’s a lot of footwear but when you think about the impact of this project, it’s massive. In the U.S. alone over 600 million shoes end up in landfills annually. Around the world there are over 300 million people who cannot afford a pair of shoes. Your shoes will be given a second chance, the environment is better off, and the funds are brought right back here to our community to help our children. The shoes you donate today will make a big difference in people’s lives around the world. That’s a huge win-win!”
The gently worn, used and/or new shoes you must be in good condition meaning that the soles are intact, they have laces (if necessary), there are no holes, they are dry and clean, and they still have life left in them.
The mission of Sojihuggles Children’s Foundation is to provide underprivileged children with the basic necessities of life, so they may grow and take advantage of opportunities, such that many of us have been given, allowing them to thrive, experience purpose in life, and contribute to society in meaningful ways. Sojihuggles is here to give children a fair chance in life, we are investing in a brighter tomorrow by giving them a better today.
