Mia Brady performs at NJPAC

A&E. A Sparta junior will perform in "The Tap Dance Kid" at the New Jersey Performing Art Center (NJPAC) in September.

Mia Brady, a Sparta High School junior, perform in tap dance legend Savion Glover 's revival of "The Tap Dance Kid" next weekend at the New Jersey Performing Art Center's (NJPAC) Victoria Theater. Brady has been tapping and singing with Glover and student performers since July 15.

"Savion is hands-on and encouraging," Brady stated. "He has challenged me in my tapping skills, like no one has even done before. It truly has been an honor to work with him He is always teaching us, having us learn about our craft, and sharing inspirational words with us."

"The Tap Dance Kid" launched Glover's career more than three decades ago on Broadway. He was 10 years old when he played Willie, a boy who dreams of becoming a dancer. Glover’s tap style is loud and unique. Brady's performs at 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 13, Saturday, Sept. 14 and at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15..
