Talented band students were selected to participate in the High School Honors and Junior High Honors Band concerts.

The High School Honors concert will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 14. Kittatinny hosts this year's event. Over 130 students auditioned for sixty-five seats in the band. Kittatinny had 15 students selected for those coveted positions.

Jarred Matthes, the band director, stated, “Their hard work paid off as they had a very strong showing, including a number of students coming in first on their instruments in the county.”

Tickets at the door are $5 for students, seniors, and $8 for adults.

Kittatinny will also host the Junior High Honors band concert at 7 p.m. on Nov. 13. Admission is $5. Eleven junior high band members auditioned and all eleven were selected for the eighty-nine piece band.

“They worked very hard in preparation for this audition," said Alexandra Straulina. "For many of them, it was their first time doing an audition at all. Rachel Kline gets a special shout out for auditioning as the top middle school clarinet in the county first chair."
