Allen F. Dunn

Allen F. Dunn of Wantage, N.J., passed away on Sunday, Feb. 28, 2021, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, N.J. He was 64.

Born in Sussex, N.JH., to the late Allen V. and Eleonore “Lore” (Schneider) Dunn, Allen has been a lifetime resident of Sussex County. He had worked in the family business, Dunn and Dunn Well Drilling, for many years and currently was employed with Nielsen Automotive Group at Franklin-Sussex Hyundai dealership.

Allen was a former member and past president of the Sussex Kiwanis Club, served on the board of directors at Deckertown-Union Cemetery, and was known for his generosity in the community. He never hesitated to support a worthy cause and donated wells to various organizations in the community.

Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Michael “Mickey” L. Dunn, in 1993; and his wife, Cathy (Olinger) Dunn, in 2016.

Allen is survived by his sons, Eric Dunn of Annapolis, Md., and Mason Dunn and his fiancé, Jennifer Lemongelli, of Wantage; and granddaughters that he adorned, Aubree and Charlotte.

Private cremation services have been held at the convenience of the family and a celebration of Allen’s life will be held in the future. Funeral arrangements were made by Pinkel Funeral Home, Sussex.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local charity. He loved his community and there is no better way to ensure that his memory carries on.
