The Atlantic Health Systems Primary Care office opened in the ShopRite Plaza on Monday, Nov 4. The facility will offer primary care physicians, urgent care, laboratory services, and a physical rehabilitation office. On Wednesday, Mayor Alex Rubenstein and wife Jeannine stopped by for a tour and to receive their flu vaccines.

The new facility has been completely renovated, and it will prove difficult for previous shoppers to recognize the space as the dollar store which preceded it. The doctor’s office boasts 12 exam rooms, one procedure room, and generous work space for the staff. It’s directly connected at the rear of the building to the rehab office in a horseshoe shape around the central laboratory, which has its own dedicated entrance.

The Rubensteins were impressed with both the scope of the renovation and the services offered at the clinic.

“I’m pleased to see the investment Atlantic Health has made here,” the mayor said, “The ability for residents to have access to this care right here in town is a great thing.”

Both the mayor and his wife were among the first to receive their annual influenza vaccines at the new medical facility, which Jeannine Rubenstein said is vital for them with their large family.

“Even if someone does get a strain of the flu,” she said, “It really does help lessen the severity and protect the rest of us from getting sick.”

“It’s good to be able to get these vaccines right here in Byram,” Mayor Rubenstein said. “It’s important that we get this to protect ourselves and our loved ones. I’d encourage everyone to come and check out this beautiful new office and protect themselves, too.”

The Atlantic Health Systems office and laboratory will be open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The rehabilitation facility will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. Additional hours will be added as clientele increases.
