Chamber of Commerce to hold "A Taste of Newton" on Sept. 9.

This year a Taste of Newton will have the theme "The Best Thing I Ever Made" and will take place on Spring Street at 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 9, 2019, with a rain date of Tuesday, Sept. 10. Restaurants and culinary businesses can showcase their talents by supplying cuisine samples.

There will be live music by Mike Lawlor's Band. Tickets will be available online for $50 per person, $40 for Greater Newton Chamber of Commerce (GNCC) members in advance. Tickets will be $60 at the gate, and $50 at the gate for members. Table reservations are available now. A maximum of five table tickets are available for members and non-members. This ticket allows one 5 foot round table to be reserved, accommodating up to 10 people. There is limited availability, and is first come, first served, $500, or for members, $400.

The Best Taste Award, created by Gravity DesignWorks, Inc., will be presented to the best tasting culinary experience of the evening, as voted on by the attendees. There will be links and QR codes posted on signs at the event. Use your smartphone to log in to vote for the evening's Best Taste. The event, whic increases awareness of local eateries, is sponsored by the Greater Newton chamber of Commerce and a portion of the event's proceeds goes toward schoalrship funding for students in pursing education in the food industry.
