Andover Township. Discount Tire Centers has ribbon cutting.
At the Andover Mini Mall, Discount Tire Center’s owner Angelo Inglima, along with his staff, family, and friends, welcomed Mayor Dolores Blackburn to wield the ceremonial scissors to open the store.
“I’m so blessed and happy to be opening this location here in Andover,” Inglima said, adding that he’d like to thank Andover Mini Mall owner Ken Swenson for his support during the move-in process.
Just a few hundred feet down the road and ten minutes later, Inglima’s lifelong friend Jeff McManus and his partners, father and son Paul and Darrick Franek, cut the ribbon at the location of their used car business Lafayette Motors, also with the help of the mayor.
“I’m really excited to be here,” McManus said.
McManus and Inglima have been close since kindergarten and have watched each other’s businesses grow over the years.
“It’s great that we’ve both done well and have these new locations,” McManus said.
Mayor Blackburn said she was happy to take part in the ceremonies to officially welcome the businesses to town and glad to see local success stories. All four proprietors are Sussex County natives.
“We’ve been talking about redevelopment here on Rt. 206 for a while now,” she said, “and we’re just about to start a formal study. But this is an exciting day for Andover, to have these new businesses moving in.”
