Here is a look at some of the many events and offerings surrounding Veterans Day, Monday, Nov. 11, 2019. Municipalities encourage participation by members of the public.

Byram

The Township's annual Veteran’s Day service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11, 2019, at the monument in front of the Roseville Schoolhouse on Mansfield Drive, with a reception following. Former Mayor and Town Judge Richard Bowe, a veteran of the Army Security Agency, is expected to speak.

NJ Veterans Memorial Cemetery

There will be a Veterans Day Service at noon on Monday, Nov. 11 at the Northern New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery. For more information visit https://www.nnjveteransmemorialcemetery.org

Newton

The Town will display U.S. Flags on the Municipal Building lawn at 39 Trinity Street in Newton. The flags will remain displayed throughout November. A ceremony will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 9, with a reception following. Members of the public can adopt a flag for $30. Proceeds benefit the veteran's program "Community Hope." Hopatcong

A Veteran's Day Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 11 at Veteran's Field. Hopatcong has a tribute page to honor the sacrifice of local veterans. For more information visit hopatcong.org

Passport Services for Veterans

During November 2019 any veterans applying for a passport through the Sussex County Office will have their photo fee covered by Sussex County in honor of Veterans Day. Citizens may apply at the Clerk's Office in Newton for a U.S. Passport.

YMCA

Veterans may use the Sussex County YMCA at no cost during November.

The YMCA also waives the fee for joining the YMCA any time of year for veterans, reserve, and active military members.
