BYRAM —"ShopRite believes that no one in this country should go to bed hungry," said Christine Foster, Communications Director for RonetCo Supermarkets. "Raising help and hope for the hungry is a top priority for ShopRite associates who band together each year to help alleviate the problem." ShopRite associates collect donations at checkout and in-store events to combat hunger. The seven area RoNetco supermarkets were among the top winning stores featured on special edition Cheerios boxes for raising $119,533 for local shelters, food pantries and charities served by ShopRite stores. In addition to the generosity of ShopRite customers, RoNetco Supermarkets provided an additional gift of $30,000 for the NORWESCAP Food Bank, along with over 3,000 cans of vegetables and nearly 1,000 boxes of cereal. “We could never assist the ever-increasing demand for food from our clients without the support of ShopRite," said Helene Meissner, Director of The NORWESCAP Food Bank. David Romano, Vice President and C.F.O of RonetCo Supermarkets, said, “We live here, we work here and we give here, it is our responsibility as a business to provide for those who support our efforts."
