The Byram Township Recreation Committee is excited to offer a trio of holiday activities for residents this year. The first is a town-wide Holiday Lights Contest, which will have open registration from Dec 1- Dec 11. Anyone interested in competing should submit their name, address, and phone number via email to Phil Crosson at pcrosson@byramtwp.org. Judging will occur on the evening of Dec 14, and winners will be announced at the Tuesday, Dec 17 council meeting. Gift cards will be awarded for 1st ($50), 2nd ($30), and 3rd ($10) places.

The Rec Committee is also happy to announce that Santa’s mailbox will be back at the municipal building this season. Letters to Santa can be dropped off at the municipal building during business hours between Dec 1 and Dec 10. Santa will try to answer his correspondence, time permitting.

On Sunday, Dec 8, the Cranberry Lake Firehouse on Rt. 206 will once again play host to Santa himself. The festivities begin at 6 p.m. with snacks, Santa’s arrival, and a show from Amazing Magic by Mark. Children will hear stories and be able to write letters to Santa. This is a free evening of family fun.

For more information about any of these holiday offerings, please call the Rec Committee at 973-347-2500, ext. 160.
