Have a comment about Sparta Police? NJ Police Chief Association wants to know

Law and Order. It's time for Sparta Police accreditation. As part of the process, the public is invited to give comment. Employees and the public can comment by calling 973-729-6614 on Dec. 9, 2019 between the hours of 11 a.m. and noon.

The public is asked to give comment about the Sparta Police. That's because the Department is due for public assessment in order to obtain its professional accreditation.

Administered by the New Jersey State Association of Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP), accreditation requires police departments to comply with best practice standards when making arrests, as well as following best standards for how it handles personnel, investigations, and operations.

Agency employees and the public are invited to offer comments by calling 973-729-6614 on Dec. 9, 2019 between the hours of 11 a.m. and noon. Comments will be taken by the Assessment Team. Email comments can be sent to the police department at at tmulligan@spartapd.org.

Telephone comments are limited to 5 minutes and must address the agency’s ability to comply with the NJSACOP standards. A copy of the standards is available for inspection at the Sparta Police Department, 65 Main Street, Sparta NJ 07871.
