Newton Reading program to open 'universe of stories'

    The Sussex County Library System’s summer reading program, A Universe of Stories, is coming to a close with special programs and prizes to be awarded at every SCLS location. Saturday, Aug. 3, is the last day to submit raffle tickets for the 100+ prizes being awarded to participating children, teens and adults.
    While bringing in those last-minute tickets the public is also invited to attend special closing programs.
    On Friday, Aug. 2, family-friendly magician Mr. D. will wow audiences with a combination of comedy and sleight of hand. Mr. D. will make three appearances: 10 a.m. at the Louise Childs Branch, 21 Sparta Road in Stanhope; 1 p.m. at the Main Library, 125 Morris Turnpike in Frankford; and 3 p.m. at the Sussex-Wantage Branch, 69 Route 639 in Wantage.
    On Saturday, Aug. 3, animal enthusiasts of all ages are invited to get up close and personal with a wide variety of odd and interesting wildlife from Unique Creatures. This smooth, scaly, furry and fun collection of critters makes three stops: 10 a.m. at the Dorothy Henry Branch, 66 Route 94 in Vernon; 1 p.m. at the Franklin Branch, 103 Main Street in Franklin; and 3 p.m. at the Dennis Branch, 101 Main Street in Newton.
