NJ to hold police resiliency summit on Oct. 10
Law and Order. The Attorney General and the NJ Governor's office are holding a summit to launch a statewide program to address the well-being of police officers.
More than 1,200 members of law enforcement and other stakeholders will attend a summit at the Trenton War Memorial, launching the first-in-nation statewide program to address the well-being of police officers.
Governor Phil Murphy and Attorney General Gurbir S. Grewal will address members of law enforcement, relatives of fallen officers, mental health experts, chaplains, and other stakeholders as the Attorney General’s Office hosts a groundbreaking two-day Resiliency Summit. The summit is for discussion of emotional, mental and physical stress and trauma that police officers endure on a daily basis, and the ways that the New Jersey Resiliency Program for Law Enforcement and other programs support officers and seek to prevent officer suicides. The summit also will serve as “bridge training” for law enforcement agencies across the state, who ultimately will train all officers statewide in resiliency under the Directive issued.
