Senior Citizens Club inducts new officers

Stanhope. The Borough's Senior Citizen Club recently inducted new officers. Club meetings are on fourth Thursdays at American Legion Post 278, 119 Rt. 183 in Stanhope. Membership is open to those age 55 and older, residing in Stanhope or its surrounding area.

Members of the Stanhope Borough Senior Citizens (SBSC) Club installed their 2019-2020 officers at a luncheon held Thursday, Aug 22, at the Whistling Swan Inn. Dozens of seniors filled the front rooms of the bed and breakfast to enjoy a three-course meal and salute their leadership. After lunch, the club was treated to a performance by acclaimed Mark Twain impersonator Roger Mallon.

The SBSC officers for the coming year are Ann L. De Jongh, president; Lucille Werner, vice president; Mary Azagra-Monteiro, secretary; Carol Ann De Fino, treasurer; and Nick Bielanowski, trustee. The club meets on the fourth Thursday of the month at American Legion Post 278, 119 Rt. 183 in Stanhope. Meetings begin with social hour at 11 a.m., with business conducted at noon followed by BINGO.

Membership in the club is open to all seniors 55 and older residing in Stanhope and its surrounding communities, and guests are always welcome.
