A spectacular Sept. 25 provided the backdrop for the Lake Mohawk Women’s Golf Association’s closing day festivities.

Prior to the meeting, Chef Paul and staff served up a delicious brunch in collaboration with the social chair, Julie Killen, who added a fall theme to the tables with beautiful mums.

Barbara Rice, president, opened the meeting by thanking members for their dedication and work throughout the year. General manager and director of golf, Ricky Mosel also acknowledged the association for a great golf season.

Valerie Horan was recognized for coordinating a wonderful 2021 as golf chair. Chris Ely was applauded for chairing a fun-filled Member Guest Day along with Carol Kozy.

Ty Hayes, golf professional, was thanked for his valuable instructions during golf clinics as well as setting up weekly matches and games for the 9- and 18-holers.

Complimentary packets containing floral or vegetable seeds for planting, courtesy of Sparta Gardens and Ideal Nursery, were offered by Esther Kashkin, chair of the Gardening Committee.

Clare Gallagher and Maureen Racioppi, Social Committee Chairs, encouraged members to participate in their Wednesday lunch and Book Club. “Midnight Library” is the novel this month.

Mah jong is played on Wednesdays. Members new to the game are invited to learn, with prizes awarded to the winners.

The 2021 Major Tournament Winner awards went to Valerie Horan, Esther Kashkin and Betsy Murphy.

ProShop golf credits were handed out to the victors of different tournaments.

The weather proved delightful for golfers, who chose to play a 12-hole format, followed by cocktails and hors d’oeuvres.
