Sparta football clinches sixth victory

The Sparta Spartans claimed their 6th consecutive victory in a head to head game against the Randolph Rams, Friday night on the Ram's home field.
The Spartans were the first to score, and they carried the ball across the field to the end zone two more times before the Rams were able to put themselves on the board. The remainder of the game was a hard fought tug of war for the win, with Sparta's freshman quarterback Austen Frattura connecting 12 of 24 throws and making 239 passing yards, while wide receiver, Brendan Cina gained 62 yards in 6 plays. Running back Austin Castorina scored an impressive 6 touchdowns with 274 yards on 40 carries to usher his team to a win of 40-35, beating Randolph. The Sparta team plays its next game on their home field on Friday, Oct. 25 against Montville.
