Veritas wins

SPORTS. Veritas Christian Academy clinched the girls soccer title for NJ Christian girls schools, by defeating Pilgrim Academy on Oct. 12.

On Saturday, Oct. 12, Veritas Christian Academy girls soccer team defeated Pilgrim Academy 3-1 to win the Garden State Association of Christian Schools girls soccer tournament. It was Veritas Christian Academy's second GSACS title.

Pilgrim led 1-0 until sophomore Charlotte Milanesi knocked in two goals from the left side for Veritas to take a 2-1 lead into halftime. In the second half senior Chloe Milanesi added an insurance goal after she chipped in a corner kick from sophomore Anna Torppey. Junior Rose Hockman was stellar in goal and she was helped out by junior sweeper Kayla Amels.

To advance to the final, Veritas Christian Academy defeated Gloucester County Christian School 6-0 on Friday, October 11th at Gloucester County Christian School in Sewell, NJ.

Charlotte Milanesi was awarded tournament MVP and Chloe Milanesi, Rose Hockman and Kayla Amels received tournament All-Stars.
