The family of the late Andover Borough Councilman E. Scott Danielson, CPM, wishes to sincerely thank the officials and people of the borough for the recognition they conveyed recently for Scott’s years of service. On Saturday, Oct. 13, a recently planted tree was dedicated to Scott and a granite monument placed in the Andover Borough Park along Tranquility Road. The monument reads:
"In Loving Memory of E. Scott Danielson, Councilman 2012-2016 – No heart beats stronger than that of a volunteer."
Mayor John Morgan officiated at the dedication and remarked on Scott’s volunteer service as not only a two-term councilman but also as the borough’s water, roads and recreation commissioner and emergency management coordinator. He was also a member and firefighter with the Andover Borough Fire Department and a past chief of Lakeland Emergency Squad. Mayor Morgan remarked that recently installed emergency generators for the borough water pumping station and the senior center were purchased with grants Scott initiated.
In attendance at the dedication ceremony were members of Scott’s family, borough officials, members of the fire department, the Lakeland Emergency Squad and residents.
Scott Danielson, a 35 year member of LES, died in the line of duty as a member of Lakeland on January 16, 2016 and his name will be among the first on the National EMS Memorial which will be authorized with the final passing of S-1692 which passed the US Senate recently. His name is on the Sussex County First Responder Memorial and Lakeland dedicated their Andover Township sub-station in Scott’s memory.
