SUSSEX COUNTY — The Children’s Chorus of Sussex County is proud to announce the names of the singers who were accepted into the 2014 American Choral Directors Association Eastern Division Honor Choirs.
Chosen through an extensive audition process, these talented CCSC members will travel to Baltimore, Maryland in February of 2014, where they will perform in Meyerhoff Hall, home to the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra.
Mikayla Caruso, Jaden Rittweger, Madeleine Schuman, and Garrett Vanni will represent CCSC in the Elementary Honor Choir conducted by Angela Broeker from the University of St. Thomas, Minnesota. Rachel Samson will represent CCSC in the Junior High Honor Choir conducted by Jeffrey Ames, Director of Choral Activities at Belmont University, Tennessee.
The Chinese Repertoire Choir has invited Laura Pachnos to work with internationally recognized Jing Ling-Tam, who heads the Choral Music Program at the University of Texas Arlington.
Jaclyn Plate and Madison Zahorsky will represent CCSC in the High School Honor Choir conducted by Jo-Michael Scheibe, who is the Director of Choral Activities at the Thornton School of Music at the University of Southern California and also serves as the National President of the American Choral Directors Association.
It is an honor to be selected to participate in these honor choirs and have the opportunity to work with internationally recognized choral conductors.
The Children’s Chorus of Sussex County continues to provide meaningful choral experiences for young singers through local, state, national and international venues.
