Dr. Robert A. Siegel

    Robert Allen Siegel was born to Louis and Miriam Siegel at Doctors’ Hospital, Sunnyside Staten Island, once located in a wooded cove in Clove Valley at the bottom of Emerson Hill, on Sept. 19, 1943. Robert graduated from P.S. 45 in West Brighton in 1957 and Curtis H.S. in 1961. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology at Howard University in Wash. D.C. in 1965.

    Robert served as an elementary school teacher at P.S. 40 in Randall Manor, Staten Island for three years but went on to the Autonomous University School of Medicine at Guadalajara, Mexico. Dr. Siegel completed his internship at The Staten Island Hospital and completed his residency in obstetrics and gynecology at The Jewish Hospital and Medical Center, Brooklyn NY. Dr. Siegel obtained his certification from The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and practiced medicine for 28 years (1980-2008) first in Columbia County, Pennsylvania, then Warren and Morris County, NJ. Dr. Siegel annually earned the Physicians Recognition Award from the American Medical Association and the New Jersey Medical Society.

    Dr. Robert A. Siegel, M.D., F.A.C.O.G. is the author of “Gynecologist Reflections”, a personal life’s journey through professional patient encounters. A literary critic remarked, “Overall, the author’s treatise shares the beauty and truth of one man’s dedication to women’s health care, which should inspire the careers of many an aspiring doctor and enthrall anyone fascinated with medicine.”

    Dr. Siegel is predeceased by his son, Damien in 2009 and survived by his wife, Colleen, daughter, Tamara, sister, Lois and brother, Arthur.
