NEWTON Tri-State Actors Theater is holding company auditions for its Summer Intern Training Program on Saturdays, May 5 through June 9. The program has trained hundreds of students who are interested in learning the art of theater and performing, since its first season in the summer of 1989. This summers Family Production is "Winnie the Pooh," a musical. Auditions, under the direction of Tri-States Artistic Director and Founder, Paul Meacham, are open to students, age 13 through 18. Appointments are not necessary. Auditioners will be asked to read selected characters from the script and sing a simple tune. Head shots and resume will be accepted, but are not required. There is a $185 non-refundable registration fee for the program All auditions will be held at Sussex County Community College, Newton. Dates, times and locations for the auditions are: Saturday, May 5, noon until 3 p.m., Bldg. D – Student Center Theater Saturday, May 12, 10 a.m. to noon, Performing Arts Center Saturday, May 19, 10 a.m. to noon, Performing Arts Center Saturday, May 26, noon until 2 p.m., Performing Arts Center Saturday, June 2, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Performing Arts Center Saturday, June 9, 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., Performing Arts Center The Intern Program begins July 9, with three weeks of rehearsals, from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Production dates for "Winnie the Pooh"are Aug. 1 through Aug. 11. All rehearsals and performances will be at Sussex County Community College.
