NEWTON — The Newton Theatre will host the Big Apple Comedy Club on Saturday, May 19, at 8 p.m. Individual tickets are on sale now and cost $25 for orchestra seats and $20 for balcony seats. Saturday’s show will play host to Tom Cotter, voted best stand-up at the Las Vegas Comedy Festival and seen on Comedy Central’s Premium Blend, the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Last Comic Standing; Jessica Kirson, known for her unique character voices and appearances on HBO, Comedy Central, VH1 and Nickelodeon; Michele Balan, who has appeared on NBC’s Last Comic Standing, The Joy Behar Show, as well as being voted one of the top 10 comics by Backstage Magazine; and Moody McCarthy, who has performed with Wanda Sykes, Bobcat Goldthwait and Greg Giraldo and has appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Last Comic Standing.
