OGDENSBURG-Kelly Marie Goodwin will get the wish she's been hoping for since she was crowned Junior Miss Ogdensburg in 2000. Chosen as Miss Ogdensburg 2005, she will represent the town at this year's Sussex County Farm and Horse Show. A 2005 graduate of Wallkill Valley High School, Goodwin is headed to Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Conn., majoring in accounting. She is the only child of Marie and Thomas Goodwin. A penchant for numbers brought Goodwin to an introductory course in accounting at Wallkill Valley, and two more years of accounting classes followed. She participated in the Future Business Leaders of America as their New Jersey State secretary and school co-president. Goodwin is a member of Students Against Drunk Driving, Math League, and the student council. She was also named to the National Honor Society. A member of Brothers and Sisters in Christ, a Christian group at school, Goodwin participated in community projects such as food collections and visits to nursing homes. Looking forward to the rest of the summer, Goodwin's work with Future Business Leaders will continue as a volunteer parking attendant at the fair. She works part-time at a day care center in Vernon, and is also a pre-school Vacation Bible School teacher at her church, Prince of Peace Lutheran in Hamburg. A veteran of pageants, Goodwin said, "I've always wanted to be in the ‘Queen of the Fair' pageant, and I am really excited about winning."
