World-famous Argentinian magician to play Sparta

| 05 Dec 2016 | 01:21

— The Sparta Ave Stage opened three years ago and one aspiration was to present unique magic featuring expert professional magicians from around the globe. The Stage is now delighted to announce that on Friday, Dec 16, at 6PM, two extraordinary performers will present a special one hour close-up magic experience in the intimate 66 seat setting of the Sparta Avenue Stage. The show features a rare, live performance by Argentinian Magician “Tango Magic,” aka Marcelo Insua. Marcelo, (presently in NYC performing and lecturing for magicians) rarely visits the US and will be in Sparta for only one performance at 6 PM, Dec 16. Following the show, at 8 PM, Marcelo will present a magic lecture for NJ based magicians, sponsored jointly by Society of American Magicians Assemblies 25 and 168. This is a great opportunity for magicians to learn techniques of close-up magic from Marcelo, a master magician and inventor.
Marcelo Insua lives in Buenos Aires and is president of the “Tango Magic Company,” a company that focuses on tools and devices for magicians. In 2012, Marcelo won the prestigious F.I.S.M “invention award”. F.I.S.M., The International Federation of Magic Societies, is an association representing over 50,000 members from fifty countries which holds an international competition every 3 years and awards the best in magic. Marcelo will perform magic from his F.I.S.M. act, including his flawless coin magic, crazy silk magic, as well as a feat of mentalism where two people share the same dream. He will also present astounding card magic with audience involvement to round out his show. Marcelo is proprietor of the only bar in Argentina specializing in magic performances. In celebration of his visit, please join us for a pre-show reception beginning at 5:30 pm.
The special show will open with Meir Yedid, a Jersey Boy of Magic, close friend of Marcelo and an award-winning entertainer who twice won the Society of American Magicians Championship for close up. Meir is famous for his comedy Finger Fantasies and Twisting Arm routines and has appeared on Comedy Tonight (FOX-TV) and comedy and talk shows around the world. He has created and sold hundreds of new magic effects throughout his career. His on-line magic company (wwww.mymagic.com) sells the latest magic effects, books, and DVDs to the magic community.
