BYRAM — The Byram Township Board of Education has officially acknowledged Timothy McCorkle, Byram Lakes Elementary School enrichment teacher, and Charles Best, Byram Intermediate School seventh-grade social studies teacher, as the district’s recipients of the Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award. A panel of parents, teachers, and administrators selected the teachers. The panel identified McCorkle and Best for their effective approaches, their use of technology, their rapport with students, their professional relationships with others, and their dedication to the developing child. On April 27, along with other award recipients from Sussex County, McCorkle and Best will attend a convocation ceremony at the Lafayette House where they will be presented a plaque for this prestigious award.
