Thomas “Tommy” Russell Agens of Stanhope passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, Feb. 6, 2024, at St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover. He was 67.

Thomas was born in New Jersey to the late Wilbert and Ellen Agens and was a longtime resident of Netcong (Stoll Street), Lake Lackawanna, Byram and Stanhope.

He graduated from Netcong High School, Class of 1974.

Much of his career was as a letter carrier for the Stanhope Post Office.

Additionally, he shared his passion for music as a local DJ for many years with his own business, the Party Express.

Thomas had a deep appreciation for movies, particularly horror films. He also found joy in shopping, especially at HSN.

He had a talent for gardening and loved holiday decorating. Frequently, he reminisced about “old times” and loved watching old home movies.

Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, Wilbert and Ellen Agens, as well as his three brothers, Harry, Glenn and Gordon “Dale.”

He is survived by his niece, Jamie Ryan (Agens), and nephew, Gordon Agens. He is also survived by many friends, neighbors, cousins and other members of the family.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, Feb. 17 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Morgan Funeral Home, 31 Main St., Netcong.
