Stanhope resident returns home from Afghanistan

STANHOPE — On Jan. 12 Stanhope resident Robert McGuire of the U.S. Army Armor Division returned home from a year-long tour of duty in Afghanistan. He graduated boot camp at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, in March 2010. He was then stationed in Germany before deploying to Afghanistan. He now lives in Stanhope with his mother and step-father, Mary and Eric Abramowitz, and his older sister Jennifer Malatesta. McGuire will finish out his Army career in Bromholder, Germany, and will leave the service in Nov. 2012.
