On August 5, the new Andover Township Police Headquarters and Dispatch Center will be dedicated in memory of Andover Township Police Officer William P. Bosworth Jr., who died in the line of duty on August 5, 1997, while protecting and serving the community he loved. If you have any questions, contact Chief Phillip Coleman at 973-383-5544. The Andover Township Police Department was originally stationed in a garage of the Municipal Building and later was relocated to a caretaker's cottage on the Hillside Park property where it remained for more than 25 years. Over the years, the Andover Township Police Department has grown to eleven police officers including the Chief, four full-time dispatchers, and six part-time dispatchers. In addition to providing essential emergency services for Andover Township, the Police Department provides dispatching services for Hamburg Borough, Andover Borough, and Green Township. In March of this year, construction of the new Police Headquarters and 9-1-1 Center was completed and the Police Department was moved to the new state-of-the-art facility.
