    A stop for speeding resulted in township police noticing a driver was wanted on a U. S. Marshal’s warren.t On Tuesday, March 3 at 2:20 a.m., Patrolman D. DeWald stopped a care for speeding on Route 80. The dirver, Robert Claiburne, of New York City, was found to be driving with a suspended drivers license. A check on his paperwork revelaed a U. S. Marshal Service warrant for a probation violation. He was arrested and transported to police headquarters where he was held until representatives of the Marshal Service picked him up A municipal warrant was involved in a Tuesday, March 3 traffic stop. A police officer checked the license plate of a red Jeep Cherokee that was traveling South on Route 206. The license plate check showed that the registered owner of the vehicle had a suspended driver’s license and also had a warrant out of Roxbury Township. The vehicle was stopped and the owner of the vehicle, James A. Rocha of Kenvil was in the passenger seat. Rocha was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant. During a search of the vehicle, several bags of marijuana were found. The driver of the vehicle, Edison J. Segura-Gambor of Mine Hill was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were arrested and taken to the station for processing. Rocha was charged with possession of less than 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and released to Roxbury P.D. on the outstanding warrant. Segura-Gamboa was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and released pending a mandatory municipal court appearance. On Saturday, March 10, township police received a call about a custody dispute over children occurring on Hawthorne Trail. An officer was dispatched to the address and when he arrived, he spoke to John S. Sickel III of Byram. Sickel drove to the scene and appeared to be intoxicated. He was then asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was then placed under arrest for driving while intoxicated and transported to the police station for processing. At the station, Sickel consented to and failed two breath tests. He was then charged with driving while intoxicated and released to a family member pending a mandatory municipal court date. Sickel’s vehicle was impounded for 12 hours as required by state law. On 3-13-07, a Byram Twp. Police Officer checked the license plate of a red Jeep Cherokee that was traveling South on Rt. 206. A motor vehicle stop was initiated and the owner of the vehicle, James A. Rocha of Kenvil was in the passenger seat. Rocha was placed under arrest for the outstanding warrant and during a search of the vehicle, several bags of marijuana were found. The passenger of the vehicle, Edison J. Segura-Gambor of Mine Hill was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Both subjects were arrested and taken to the station for processing. Rocha was charged with Possession of Under 50g of Marijuana and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released to Roxbury P.D. on the outstanding warrant. Segura-Gamboa was charged with Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and released pending a Mandatory Byram Twp. Municipal Court date. On Thursday, March15, a Byram Township police officer observed a white 2000 Honda traveling at a high rate of speed on Route. 80 East. The vehicle was stopped and the driver of the vehicle, Hiral S. Khokhal of Roselle Park appeared to be intoxicated. Open containers of alcoholic beverages were found in his vehicle. Khokhal was asked to perform several field sobriety tests, which he failed. Khokhal was then arrested and transported to police headquarters for processing. At the station, Khokhal consented to and failed two breath tests. Khokhal was charged with the following and released to a friend pending a municipal court date. Charges against him were: underage drioving while intoxicated, driving white intoxicated, possession of an open alcoholic beverage container in a motor vehicle, provisional drivera’s license violation and speeding. Khokhal’s vehicle was impounded for 12 hours as required by state law.
