    Nov. 9 Kevin J. Hendley, 54, of Newton, was sentenced to one year probation, was ordered to serve 65 days in the Keogh-Dwyer Correctional Facility and was given credit for time served. He was also ordered to perform 75 hours of community service, pay total fines and penalties of $155 and submit a DNA sample at his expense. He pled guilty on Sept. 6, 2011 to obstruction of justice, a crime of the fourth degree. In pleading guilty Hendley admitted to threatening an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force in Newton on June 24, 2011. Nov. 14 Danielle Vitiello, 20, of Andover, pled guilty to aggravated assault, a third-degree crime. Ryan A. Darvalics, 30, of Franklin, was sentenced to four years drug court probation, 270 days jail, $5,177.10 in restitution, outpatient treatment and $405 in fines. He pled guilty on Oct. 3, 2011 to two counts of burglary and one count of forgery, all third-degree crimes. He broke into a residence on two occasions and stole property and checks from it and also forged and cashed those checks at a bank. Kevin A. Hemmerich, 23, of Hopatcong, was sentenced to four years drug court probation, 82 days county jail, inpatient substance abuse treatment, $1,205 in fines and a six-month loss of driver’s license. He pled guilty on Oct. 11, 2011 to the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He was found to be in possession of a small amount of heroin on Aug. 26, 2011. Robert F. Coward, 42, of Sussex, pled guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. He admitted to distributing half gram of cocaine on July 22, 2011 in Sussex Borough to a person cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force. He also admitted to possessing a small amount of cocaine in his home on Aug. 26, 2011. Erik J. Reider, 24, of Wantage, pled guilty to the second-degree crime of unlawful possession of a firearm. He admitted to possessing a .25 caliber semiautomatic handgun without a permit on July 17, 2011. Douglas M. Slate, 36, of Wantage, pled guilty to two counts of burglary, forgery and possession of heroin, all crimes of the third degree, and to the fourth-degree crime of theft. In pleading guilty, Slate admitted that he and a co-defendant took two checks belonging to another, forged the victim's signature on them and cashed them, taking the cash for themselves. This incident occurred between Nov. 25, 2010 and Nov. 30, 2010 in Wantage Township. On April 24, 2011 Slate and two co-defendants illegally entered a residence in Branchville Borough and took property from the home. On April 27, 2011 Slate and two co-defendants illegally entered a residence in Fredon, again taking property from the home. The defendant was found to be in possession of heroin during questioning regarding this incident. Barbara L. Fiorvante, 55, of Sussex, pled guilty to the third-degree crime of distribution of a controlled dangerous substance and the third-degree crime of possession of a controlled dangerous substance. She admitted to distributing two small bags of cocaine to an individual cooperating with the Sussex County Gangs, Guns and Narcotics Task Force on July 26, 2011 in Sussex Borough. She also admitted to possessing a small amount of cocaine in her home on Aug. 26, 2011. Nov. 15 Jason E. Hendrickson, 33, of Newton pled guilty to third-degree theft. He admitted to entering a Newton home and removing money and jewelry worth over $500. Nov. 17 Steven Hance, 22, of Stanhope, was sentenced to eight years state prison, with 372 days credit, subject to the No Early Release Act. On or about Nov. 9, 2010 the defendant attacked a woman with a steak knife.
