STANHOPE — The regular meeting of the Musconetcong Foundrymen Historical Society will be held on Sunday, Dec. 11, at Sal’s Pizzeria, Rt. 183, in Stanhope. The meeting will begin at 2:30 p.m. At the meeting the society will update members with information about the years events and projects. A member of the society, using material provided by the state, improved the Morris Canal Bridge at the crossing of the Musconetcong River. Future work is needed to install handrails. The Morris Canal Greenway and the Stanhope Environmental Commision is working with Mt. Olive to research the land ownership of the canal right of way from the Musconetcong River to the international trade zone. The society said they need to work with the Stanhope council to establish yearly brush cutting maintenance at the Plaster Mill. Fundraising opportunities will also be discussed at the meeting.
